Yamaha Corp. has been impressing fans with their incredible motorcycles year after year, and 2013 is no different. The 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A promises to be a spectacular ride, but after all, so were the previous versions of this sport-bike. Launched for the first time in 2002, the FJR1300 is a powerful and mean-looking motorcycle that proved it was capable of facing any kind of territory or infrastructure, from back-roads to highways. Moreover, this Yamaha also features one of the strongest and most impressive engines to be found on a two-wheeled vehicle, thus making sport-touring increasingly popular.

The 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A brings more improvements than its older sisters, starting with its outside appearance and ending with performance. Real fans of sport-touring and the Yamahas will be glad to know that the engine is virtually unchanged, but slight modifications have been added to the throttle bodies and the internals of the exhaust system which are meant to improve the riding experience. Other than that, the engine still maintains its specs from previous models, thus producing about 124.9 horsepower at 8200 rotations per minute and 89.3 ft.-lb. at 6700 rpm.

Another change the new 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A features is offering riders the option to choose between two ride modes, Touring and Sport. The first mode provides weaker throttle response and a more gradual delivery of power, whereas the Sport mode allows riders complete and absolute delivery of power. The aluminum frame is also mostly the same as with previous models, but revised suspension has been added at each end. Linked braking and ABS are the same that have been used since the 2006 models.

As for design and external appearance, the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A looks a bit more aggressive, especially with its new headlights shaped like cats’ eyes surrounded by white LED lights. The windscreen is adjustable and now features an under-shield air vent which increases the bike’s aerodynamics and reduces hitting. The cockpit of this sport-touring motorcycle also incorporates new features like digital speedometer, LCD screen and others, and the seat is adjustable and comfortable for day-long rides. Top speed for the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A has been recorded at 147 mph and it can reach 0-60 mph in about 2.8 seconds. Its weight has also been reduced a little, enough to make the rider feel more in control of the bike and enjoy riding it, even though the price is $15,890 in most countries.
